IN the latest fire to hit the region, motorists watched as flames took hold of undergrowth and vegetation on the AP-7 less than a mile from Ondara.
The emergency services were quickly on the scene, calling in fire crews and a helicopter which was used to dump water on the flames.
Witnesses said the fire was quickly extinguished but this incident comes only a week after the region suffered the worst wildfires in living memory.
Several people lost their homes in the fires which struck several areas including Javea, Benitachell, Bolulla, Callosa and Altea.
