Ironman kids is a beach fun-run.

NOTHING to do with Black Sabbath or Marvel Comics, both the Ironman and Ironkids competitions, sponsored by Thomas Cook, come to Mallorca on Friday September 23 and Saturday September 24.

Ironman kids is a beach fun-run for the under-12s in Alcudia with distances covered being between 300 metres and 1,200 metres depending upon age.

Every child who finishes will receive fruit, water, a medal and an Ironkids t-shirt so it is guaranteed that there are no winners or losers.

The following day, September 24 sees the Ironman Thomas Cook 70.3 race in which some of the fittest competitors in the world will swim for 1.9 kilometres, cycle for 90 kilometres and finish the day off with a 21.1 kilometre run finishing in Alcudia. The first 40 to finish have the chance to win a place in the 2017 Ironman World Championship event which will take place in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
