Boost for the economy with a new business

FOOD PARK: Signing off on a new tenant.

THE mayor of Velez-Malaga, Antonio Moreno Ferrer, has signed off on a land purchase by the Pinchomania company at the area’s food technology park.

The park, located in El Trapiche, is part of  local government’s attempts to consolidate employment and boost local investment. Pinchomania specialises in making, distributing, and selling products made from seafood and smoked fish.

The councillor for the food technology park, Maria Santana, welcomed the development.

“This is great news for the municipality, a business operating in many markets which they have fully demonstrated in their 20-year history.”

She went on to say that Pinchomania “have been looking at different locations, and have finally decided to set up in the food technology park, as they can see the excellent conditions and important development that is being experienced this year.”

The firm, based in Malaga, plan to build a facility where fish products will be made, salted, and smoked. The total cost of the plot was in excess of 612,500 euros.

Currently, only two other companies are using the park, Avomix, a company making sauces and fruit juices, and Embasur which makes containers for various foods.
