ANTONIO HORTA-OSORIO: Lloyds Bank CEO.

PORTUGUESE born Antonio Horta-Osorio, CEO of Lloyds Bank, still part owned by the taxpayer following its bailout by the government, was photographed by a reporter with a former adviser to Tony Blair whilst on a business trip to Singapore, inferring the couple were having an affair.

The former CEO of Santander UK is married with three children and always promotes he and the bank, which he has run for five years, were beyond reproach. So allegations in a tabloid newspaper, which infer expenditure on hotel accommodation of £4,000 (€4,700) was partially run up due to his extra-marital relationship, has caused considerable embarrassment.

He therefore went to the trouble of emailing 75,000 staff at Lloyds Bank to explain his position, stating his personal life is private, he has personally paid for all his own expenses, apologising for the bad publicity and assuring staff he was as committed as ever to running the Bank.

AHO as he is known earned in excess of £11.5 million (€13.5 million) in 2015.
