Double tragedy in Madrid

THE Madrid municipality of Valdemorillo was the scene of a double tragedy, as a 17-year-old girl died in a motorcycle accident before her father committed suicide in the same place the following day.

Both lived in the Puentelasierra de Valdemorillo urbanisation, around two kilometres from the centre of the town.

The first accident took place on Monday, August 29, when the girl crashed her motorcycle and was transferred to a Madrid hospital by helicopter.

Her injuries were extremely serious and she died soon after.

Not 24 hours later, her father went to the same location and killed himself with a shotgun, apparently racked with guilt having bought the bike for his daughter as a present.
