Commissioner of Police has car stolen in Spain

HM Government of Gibraltar

Commissioner Yome inspecting officers

IN A somewhat embarrassing incident, the private car of Eddie Yome the Commissioner of the Royal Gibraltar Police was stolen whilst he was on holiday in the Costa del Sol.

Having advised the Spanish police authorities of what had happened, his car was discovered and returned by the Guardia Civil although it would appear that no arrests have been made with regards to the theft.

It is believed that the theft was of a random nature and not directed at Commissioner Yome personally due to his position, rather it was opportunistic with the intention of either stripping the car down for parts or using it for a criminal activity.
