Frozen in San Pedro
MUSIC from Disney films was the theme chosen by the Ayuntamiento of Marbella’s Delegacion de Fiestas to accompany the election of the San Pedro Alcantara queen and princess for their annual Fiesta which this year will take place from October 17 to 23.
The event took place on Friday August 26 in the town’s Church square and girls of different age groups ranging from seven to 25 danced to the music of Disney classics such as The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Frozen and other well-known Disney soundtracks.
As is customary in Andalucia parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends were all present to cheer their loved ones on. The night ended with tears of joy for some and disappointment for others, but overall it was a most enjoyable evening for the spectators.
Whilst the 17 to 25 year groups were judged on style and beauty the younger ones were chosen by pulling their names out of a bucket to ensure that none were mentally scarred by being considered inadequate.
