A MAN, said to be an Irish tourist walking with his family in the Costa de la Calma, a suburb of Calvia, was shot four times in the back at about 9pm on August 17.

It is suggested that the man who was pronounced dead on arrival at the Son Espases University Hospital was the victim of a mistaken identity and was shot as part of an on-going feud that has seen deaths in Ireland and Spain.

Police and Guardia Civil officers cordoned off the area of the shooting and immediately set up control points at ports and the airport in an attempt to catch the culprit.
