Bales stacked in the back of the Porsche.

THE Local Police in San Roque have seized about 1,200 kilograms of hashish and recovered two stolen luxury cars that were found in the parking lot of the old nightclub Weekend, between Campamento and Puente Mayorga.

The mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, and the deputy mayor of public safety, Mercedes Serrano have publicly congratulated the officers involved in the action for their zeal and professionalism.

The discovery occurred at about 7am on Wednesday August 17, in the parking lots of that establishment, where both vehicles were parked with no sign of any occupants.

In a routine inspection, officers discovered that one of them, a Porsche Cayenne, was loaded with 32 bales of hashish, each of about 30 kilos of weight. After undertaking checks, it was shown that both the Porsche and a BMW X5 had been stolen.

The officers removed the vehicle to the headquarters of the Local Police and the case was then handed over to the Guardia Civil to pursue.
