A scene from the aftermath of the crash
ON THE afternoon of Friday August 5, a coach and a passenger car collided at kilometre 46 on the A357 road near to Cartama. The 71-year-old driver of the car was killed and his passenger was taken to hospital reportedly with serious injuries together with six people including the driver all from the coach which careered off of the road following the crash.
A total of 17 people were injured but the majority were treated at the scene of the accident by emergency services which left the road closed for several hours. As yet, no explanation of why the accident occurred has been released.
