SEA RESCUE: Maritime Rescue recovered 23 immigrants on board two boats.

TEN immigrants aboard a small boat have been rescued around nine miles from the island of Tabarca, Alicante.

The joint operation by the Guardia Civil and Maritime Rescue also found a second boat 11 miles off the coast with 13 men on board and they are seeking a third vessel they believe is headed for the Alicante or Murcia coastline.

According to the Guardia Civil, all those on board the first vessel were of Algerian nationality and included four children. Those on board reported the existence of the second boat, leading to the belief there is a third boat, with around 30 people on board.

Those on board the first two boats were taken to the port of Alicante.
