Guardia Civil break up smuggling of minors for sex

IN an operation codenamed Simpatico, officers of the Guardia Civil arrested nine Spanish citizens in Huelva, Madrid and Orense who are accused of enticing women and minors to work in sex clubs and they were subsequently charged with the crimes of trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation, against public health, corruption of minors and sexual assault.

The agents raided two homes of the accused and seized a firearm, €30,000 in cash, various quantities of drugs together with a number of records which are being studied for further information and evidence purposes.

They also arrested a club hostess in Galicia, where victims were sent for sexual exploitation, and found a selection of drugs suitable for use in the control of the victims of abuse. During the search an eight-year-old child was found in a concealed area.

Of those arrested, the courts have decided that five should be held in custody due to the seriousness of the charges.
