Air Europa pilot strike called off

AIR EUROPA announced late on Tuesday night (July 26) that a pilots’ strike called by Sepla trade union for July 30 to August 2 which had caused the airline to announce it would have to cancel 114 flights has been called off.

Although details of the agreements reached in negotiations have yet to be announced and it remains unclear whether or not the flights, 76 of them international, will run or not, it does appear that the company and Sepla have reached some sort of an agreement.

The airline had announced as soon as the strike was called that it was willing to negotiate and promised that none of the pilots would be adversely affected by the new low cost Air Europa Express as they feared.
