A Quiet Life

A DOUBLE life is no life at all. Laura Leverett – wife, mother and a spy – finds herself living in limbo in Geneva with her daughter since her husband disappeared in 1951. From the outside others view her as conventional and charming; inside she carries a secret.

Her double life began in 1939 when she crossed the Atlantic and met a young Communist woman on the boat who inspired her.  When in London she moves between two different worlds, from her refined cousins and upper class friends to those who want to forge a new society.  She meets a man who is hiding a secret bigger than she can imagine, falls in love and gets caught up in his hidden life. Gradually she realises the consequences of her youthful idealism.
