WACKY RACES: Event organisers prepare to rev their engines.
TORROX will once again take pole position from July 15-17, as it hosts the fifth annual Torrox Motor Show, with up to 15,000 visitors expected to attend the largest event of its kind in Spain, and one of the most important in southern Europe.
The modding and tuning jamboree specialises in customised vehicles, and the 2015 version saw attendees from 35 Spanish provinces and 17 countries lining up to check out the latest pulsating paint jobs and spaced-out speedsters.
Questions such as ‘what do you get if you turn a family people carrier into a flame-spitting hot rod?’, or ‘Can vinyl camo-wrap be combined with suicide doors and custom control rockers?’ will all be answered at this feast of wild rides, with more than 8,500 square metres of exhibition space set aside.
A play area with zip wire, a mechanical bull, ball pool, and a foam party, plus food stands and a flea market will supplement the outlandish creations, and a large area will be available for those wishing to camp at the site.
