Five arrested in Pamplona on suspicion of rape

DETAILS are emerging of the arrest of five people of unknown nationality but said to be in their mid- twenties, with one rumoured to be a Guardia Civil officer accused of raping a 19-year-old girl on Thursday July 7 at the San Fermin bull running festival in Pamplona.

It would appear that the men were released whilst investigations continue on Saturday July 10 as the festival continues, with two men injured by bulls so far and a 28-year-old Spanish man reportedly killed in a similar festival held in Pedreguer in Andalucia after being pierced in the lung.

If found guilty of rape, the men could face sentences of between six and 12 years.
