EL FANDI: One of the most skilled matadors in the world.
ALTHOUGH the council has had little time to organise the traditional bullfights at this year’s Estepona feria, due to termination of the contract with the company that managed the town’s bullring, it will nevertheless return to this year’s itinerary.
The event will serve as a tribute to the matador ‘Finito de Córdoba’, who will be honoured with a special ceremony prior to his taurine clash, with the bill also featuring current Spanish number one ‘El Fandi’, who has not fought on the Costa del Sol for several years, and young star Alejandro Talavante.
Although the bullring is only considered third category by Spanish standards, local businessman Jose Luis Lara is keen to get it upgraded to second category, hence the strong line-up, with bulls set to be provided by the Nuñez de Tarifa ranch.
Tickets for the bash will be priced at €25-€125, with 300 concessions for pensioners and youngsters available for €19.
