FOR the first time ever, to mark International LGTBI Pride Day on Tuesday (June 28) Nerja Town Hall flew a rainbow flag from its balcony.
A number of activities were organised for the day by the local council, which included reading of a manifesto in support of sexual diversity and gender identification at the Plenary Hall at noon, and a minute’s silence to honour the victims of the tragic Orlando attacks on June 12 which left 50 people dead and another 53 injured after a gunman stormed into a gay club.
The day ended with a free screening of the film The Danish Girl, at 10pm at the Villa de Nerja Cultural Centre.
