Meat Loaf on stage

MARVIN Lee Aday, better known as 68-year-old Meat Loaf, collapsed on stage in Edmonton Canada during a performance of the song, ‘I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)’ on June 16.

The singer, who has sold over 40 million albums has a history of heart problems having previously collapsed on stage in London in 2003 and in Pittsburgh in 2011 had recently cancelled two Canadian performances due to ill health.

Whilst members of the audience were not convinced that the collapse wasn’t part of the performance, members of his band and crew rushed to his assistance, the theatre was cleared and he was transferred to hospital for immediate treatment.
