TRAGEDY: The beach where the disaster occurred

A 76-year-old British holidaymaker has died on a Marbella beach after a presumed drowning, with a post-mortem expected to reveal the cause of death.

The victim has been named as Jeffrey Dobson, with police and paramedics unable to revive him after pulling him from the water around 11am on Monday, June 13.

His wife was apparently present as the tragedy struck outside the famous Ocean Club, a favoured haunt of footballers and reality TV stars.

Witnesses said that Mr Dobson’s inanimate body had been floating in the water for several minutes before other beachgoers realised there was a problem.
