HORSE AND CARRIAGE: Capdepera has decided not to renew licences for horse-drawn carriages in the municpality.

THE administration of Capdepera has decided not to renew the licences of horse-drawn carriages which normally operate in the municipality’s coastal areas during the summer season.

According to mayor of Capdepera Rafel Fernandez, the six licences which are currently valid will not be renewed in September of this year.

The mayor stressed that the decision was not related to a serious accident which occurred recently involving a horse-drawn carriage and motorcyclists in which the horse was killed and its driver injured.

Mayor Fernandez explained that the decision had already been made before the incident.  He also noted that Local Police are investigating the causes of the accident.
