AT ABOUT 6am on June 3, a man reported to be a 28-year-old British holiday maker apparently decided that he wanted a swim and jumped head first into very shallow water off of the coast of Magaluf.

He suffered extensive head and neck injuries when he hit the seabed and was rushed in a critical condition to Son Espases Hospital.
