ON THE evening of June 2, the Care Agency hosted its annual verbena (dance party) for service users who attend the Waterport Terraces Day Centre. An evening of fun and entertainment was enjoyed by over 100 service users at the Calpe Rowing Club, with music provided by My Latin Way.
The Minister for Social Services, the Hon Samantha Sacramento, gave her heartfelt thanks to all the staff, volunteers and everyone involved for a successful evening and for their valuable service to the elderly citizens of Gibraltar throughout the year.
Minister Sacramento said: “I was delighted to attend the Verbena and spend the evening with the service users, staff and volunteers of the Waterport Terraces Day Centre. Social events such as this are an important part of the care provided by the Day Centre and allow the service users to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere that is reminiscent of their long-held cultural traditions.”
