NATIONAL POLICE have raided an enormous marijuana farm in the Sevilla town of Alcala de Guadaira, where plants had been subjected to a chemical treatment designed to increase their potency and growth rate.
A total of 987 plants were confiscated and the ‘manager’ of the plantation arrested, with the investigation still open as agents attempt to track down other members of the gang.
Police became suspicious when they spotted a new form of the drug on the market, with laboratory tests revealing it to be genetically modified in such a way that it produced extremely high levels of the psychoactive chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
