BATCHELOR pad or romantic hideaway? Only time will tell, but what is certain is that Brad Pitt has become the latest member of the rich and famous crowd to snap up a piece of property in Mallorca.

Following filming for his latest film, Allied, in the Canary Islands, the American actor travelled to Mallorca for a rest and is reported to have signed on the dotted line to acquire an eight-bedroom, 900m2 villa on the island.

“Brad Pitt fell in love with the Balearics and asked us to find him a house in Mallorca. After visiting a few, he chose one in Port d’Andratx,” real estate advisor Alessandro Proto stated.

The villa, in a secluded area which is difficult to reach, ensuring privacy for its inhabitants, is much smaller than the type of property the Brangelinas have purchased in the past, and is more suited to a single man than a large family, Proto said. This has led to speculation as to whether rumours which began earlier this year that there could be problems in the Pitt-Jolie marriage, although the couple has publicly denied this.

Although there is the possibility that Pitt intends to spend time at the Mallorcan villa alone, the pair could also be planning to use it as a romantic hideaway.
