PUERTO POLLENSA: Gender violence claims another victim in Mallorca.

IT has emerged that the victim of the violent stabbing in Port de Pollenca had presented herself to the Guardia Civil four hours before the fatal attack, decrying her husband who later killed her.

She spoke with police officers at the local station, but eventually left without filing an official complaint, with other residents witnessing her being attacked on her balcony just a few hours later.

After murdering his wife, her husband walked downstairs and sat on the front doorstep, telling a neighbour “I am the murderer, you can detain me when you want,” telling police that he committed the crime due to ‘jealousy’ and freely admitting his guilt.

He told another neighbour “I killed her because she was a bitch” as he sat on the step with his legs covered in blood.

THE Guardia Civil is investigating the murder of a Romanian woman stabbed to death in Puerto Pollensa on Sunday May 29.

The 46-year-old woman identified as Lucia P was allegedly killed by her 58-year-old husband, also from Romania.  The incident took place around 11am in a flat on Calle Gola. The woman was attended to by emergency services from an ambulance and a doctor from the health centre, who were unable to save her life due to the severity of the injuries.

The perpetrator turned himself in to Local Police and is currently being held by the Guardia Civil who are investigating the case.

Councillor for Social Services and Head of the Balearic Women’s Institute Fina Santiago confirmed that it was a case of gender violence. This is the third woman killed this year in Mallorca as a result of gender violence.
