Duke Michael Barracliffe.

UPDATE: We are always pleased to be able to report a happy ending and in this case, Martha has called us to advise that Duke has been found by the police who are returning him to her, apparently none the worse for wear, although he thought that he was still at home.

WE HAVE today (Tuesday May 24) received a telephone call from a lady by the name of Martha Barracliffe who is on holiday with her husband Duke Michael Barracliffe who is aged 85 and suffers from dementia.

They have been staying at the El Paraiso complex in Torrevieja, Alicante and were due to return to their home in Welwyn Garden City on Tuesday May 24 but unfortunately Duke, who goes walking in the grounds each day without previous mishap, did not return to the complex on May 23 and is therefore considered missing.

Martha has reported his disappearance to both the Police and the British Consulate and has had to cancel her return to the UK but is appealing to readers of Euro Weekly News in the area to keep their eyes open for Duke who was probably wearing a polo shirt, black cap and black trousers and will be somewhat confused.

The British Consulate has arranged for details of the disappearance to appear on the Lucie Blackman Trust site www.lbtrust.org/#!Duke-Barracliffe/ctu0/574387ae0cf2aa150f206cef but they are based within the UK so any immediate sighting of Duke should be referred to the nearest police station or can be communicated to John Smith at EWN on 952 561 245 as he is in direct contact with Martha.
