It is well worth considering getting health insurance
THE Llevant Hospital in Porto Cristo has launched a new service for patients who do not have private insurance called ‘Tarjeta Plus’ (Card Plus).
According to Director General of the Hospital Gabriel Uguet, the card does not replace health insurance.
It is for patients who want to use the facilities and seek flexibility. Important discounts and benefits are offered for the most common services including A and E, outpatient and radiology.
In addition, card holders are entitled to customised quotes with a discount of around 20 per cent off the normal rates in the case that more complex treatment or surgery is required.
Uguet explained that the card is in response to a demand from local residents, many of whom lack private insurance but want to use the hospital’s services regularly.
The card, explains Uguet, rewards the loyalty of these patients and establishes the hospital’s central position in the area.
