VELEZ-MALAGA: Business associations expressed their discontent over the conditon of the historical centre.
BUSINESS associations from Velez-Malaga have expressed their discontent over the condition of the town’s historical centre, and in particular over pending projects in the area.
“After presenting numerous letters and holding meetings between town hall representatives, stressing projects which need to be carried out and could have been completed already with a little effort, we still see no progress and can only believe the authorities are not interested in this area,” the associations complained.
They stressed that opening the market in San Francisco, for example, should be treated as an urgent measure and said they were concerned over an apparent lack of diligence with regards to the future Lope de Vega Theatre, or pedestrianisation of the Plaza de San Francisco and Calle Poeta Joaquin Lobato, both of vital importance to help invigorate the area of the town.
