TELEPARK: you too could be this happy.

PIONEERING Fuengirola has become the first municipality in Andalucia, and just the second in Spain, to introduce a system whereby drivers can pay for the precise time lapsed when parking in one of the town’s blue zones.

The trailblazing local council introduced the mobile phone app ‘Telepark’ two years ago, allowing users to pay for parking electronically, but now they have introduced a special button on meters which, when pressed, stops the clock and immediately charges the card associated with the app.

This new feature, called ‘Start and Stop’, is incorporated within the free application, which can be downloaded from both the Apple and Play stores, or via the website www.telpark.com.

Once downloaded, users must submit personal and payment details, after which it is possible to book parking spaces in advance, select the amount of time required, and view payment status, among other functions, and it even includes an alarm which sounds before the time is due to expire.
