Palencia players attempt to force a smile as they sport the abysmal kit.
FOLLOWING the peculiar tradition which has been adopted by lower-league Spanish football teams in recent seasons, fourth-tier side Club Deportivo Palencia are gearing up for their appearance in this season’s play-offs by launching a gruesome new anatomical kit, which leaves little to the imagination.
Designed by Juan Francisco Martin, creator of the controvertible ‘tuxedo’ kit for second-division outfit Cultural Leonesa, the ‘flesh-themed’ attire is intended to demonstrate that the players are willing to ‘give their skin’ in their bid to reach Segunda B.
This is possibly the first time that a club has decided to project a naked human body onto one of its strips, and supplier Kappa will hope that it gives the team an extra something in their upcoming ties.
Spanish social media exploded following the unveiling of the outlandish gear on Thursday May 12, which can be purchased for around €30.
