ALMERIA has placed 26th in terms of the number of nurses in the province, registering a ratio of 424 per 100,000 inhabitants, according to a newly released report for 2015.

To reach the Spanish average ratio, 903 more nurses would be needed in Almeria, and to equal the average registered in the rest of Europe (825 per 100,000 inhabitants) another 2,772 nurses would have to be taken on.

The report by the General Nursing Board states that the Spanish public health system is considered to be the seventh best in the world, and comments on the quality of the work nurses do, considering how few of them there are compared to other countries.
