SEPRONA, the Guardia Civil branch responsible for protection of nature, has cast its net over 600 kilos of processed fish which did not meet sanitary standards and was deemed unfit for consumption.
The festering haul was discovered in a cave house in the coastal village of La Rabita on the Costa Tropical, and included packets of anchovies, cuttlefish, and octopus in sauce, with other products being prepared for drying.
Health inspectors ordered the destruction of the putrid cuisine, while police arrested a 50-year-old resident for crimes against public health.
