Waiting time: For patients has gone down.
THE waiting time for patients of the Balearic public health service is now on average 95.6 days for surgery, representing a reduction of 11 per cent in the last 12 months.
At the end of March, more than 13,800 people in the Balearics were on the waiting list for an operation.
The data made public by Director General of Ib-Salut Juli Fuster shows that of the 13,845 people waiting for surgery (an increase of 1 per cent), 22 per cent less have been waiting for more than six months.
At the end of March, the number of people who had an appointment with the specialist was 3.7 per cent more than March 2015, but waiting time was 17.4 per cent less.
Of the total number of patients on the waiting list for specialist consultations, 37 per cent have been on the list for more than two months, representing 10 per cent less than the end of the first quarter of 2015.
Patients needing X-rays waited an average of 48.8 days representing 34.6 per cent less than 2015.
