THE Queen, the Prince of Wales, Prince William and Prince George have posed for a new set of stamps for to celebrate the monarchy.

The new set of first class stamps is to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday and includes the Queen’s heir, her heir’s heir and her highnesses heir’s, heir’s heir.

Standing on a pile of foam blocks, little Prince George looks proud as punch holding his father’s hand as he poses for his first set of stamps. The Royal Mail has released the set of commemorative first class stamps to pay tribute to the Queen on her celebration day tomorrow.

At the same time, paying tribute to the Queen on the eve of her 90th birthday, Prince William answered back at certain criticism he has received over his commitment to royal duties.

Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Prince William said;

“I take duty very seriously. I take my responsibilities very seriously. But it’s about finding your own way at the right time and if you’re not careful duty can sort of weigh you down an awful lot at a very early age and I think you’ve got to develop into the duty role.”

The Duke of Cambridge also pointed towards how important his job as an air ambulance pilot is to him and also the time he spends with his family.

He confirmed that both his father and grandmother, the Queen, both supported his current position of not being fully engaged in royal duties but when the time came to take on more responsibilities he will relish the opportunity.

The Prince also paid huge tribute to his grandmother saying she had been a “guiding example” of what a good monarch should be.

“I think the Queen’s duty and her service, her tolerance, her commitment to others – I think that’s all been incredibly important to me and it’s been a real guiding example of just what a good monarch could be.

“And it’s been incredibly insightful for me growing up, watching her leadership in that role.

“I think it’s important to grow into a role with the right characteristics and the right qualities, and I think she’s exemplified that in everything she’s done.”

The second in line to the throne, Prince William continued: “I think the Queen’s duty and her service, her tolerance, her commitment to others – I think that’s all been incredibly important to me and it’s been a real guiding example of just what a good monarch could be.

“And it’s been incredibly insightful for me growing up, watching her leadership in that role.

“I think it’s important to grow into a role with the right characteristics and the right qualities, and I think she’s exemplified that in everything she’s done.”

The day before her official birthday, the Queen has been accompanied by the Duke of Cambridge meeting staff and viewed an exhibition at Windsor’s Royal Mail delivery office.

The visit coincided with the 500th anniversary of the postal service.

The Queen and Duke then left for Alexandra Gardens where she officially opened a new bandstand and was greeted by local school children who sang happy birthday to her.
