Visitors enjoying Family Fun Day.
APRIL 15 saw a large number of young and old attracted to the Family Fun Day jointly organised by the Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation & Awareness services of the Care Agency and the Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) in aid of the Stay Clean charity.
The Care Agency welcomes the work of this charity, which aims to raise awareness on all issues related to drug misuse, as well as providing support for those suffering from the consequences of all forms of addictions.
Since the launch of Stay Clean, the Care Agency, together with the RGP, has worked closely with it in order to help its members achieve their objectives. At Saturday’s event in Casemates, the Care Agency hosted a drugs awareness stall where the public were able to learn more about the wider issues related to drugs and to speak to members of their rehabilitation team.
The Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo QC said: “The government is happy to support Stay
Clean and all organisations that provide support to addicts and their families. It is important to create awareness of the dangers of addiction and to support those suffering because if it. I want to thank members of the RGP and the Care Agency for helping to organise today’s Family Fun Day and for the less obvious assistance they continue to provide to this worthwhile charity.”
Although the day had its serious side, as can be seen from the picture accompanying this article, many youngsters also had plenty of fun participating in the variety of different attractions on offer.
