FORMER IDENTITY: Aqueduct belongs to a forgotten past.
ALFAZ DEL PI plans to restore the 17th century Soler aqueduct. The 15.5-metre structure is listed as an Asset of Local Relevance in the Alfaz’s official catalogue of Assets and Protected Areas, and the town hall now plans to restore it archaeologically. Once rehabilitated it will become part of Alfaz’s green routes and infrastructure.
The project is viable and sustainable, the town hall said, and relates to the need to safeguard the material and intangible assets of a municipality that has almost lost its former identity of an agricultural community.
