LIVERPOOL scored a potentially crucial away goal in their Europa league quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund on April 7.

The Belgium striker Divok Origi struck home with a low finish across goal during the game’s first half.

Mats Hummels headed in an equaliser and the hosts pressed in search of a winner, but Liverpool kept them at bay for the remainder of the match.

A fair result in the end as Dortmund, favourites to win the Europa League, dominated possession yet Liverpool manager Klopp’s tactics ensured Liverpool frustrated their opponents, restricting them to few real chances.

A stirring rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, the famous song both teams have adopted as their football anthem set the tone for the game before kick-off. It delivered a special atmosphere in an encounter that was tense and absorbing all the more so as Klopp was previously the Dortmund manager.
