AS tourists flood to the Costa del Sol for an Easter break, Marbella hotels are expected to be completely booked up according to the local tourism department.

Between Thursday March 24 and Saturday March 26 hotels are expected to be running between 90 per cent and 100 per cent capacity.

It seems Easter tourists have good taste, as bookings for top-class hotels have sky-rocketed meaning the higher the category of hotel the more likely it is to be booked up, according to the figures.

Five-star hotels have received the highest number of bookings with 80 per cent of the rooms already booked. Following suit are the four-star hotels which are currently showing 77 per cent of the rooms have been booked, and finally all the hotels with less than four stars, which are about 74 per cent full.

The majority of visitors are from Spain, followed by British, German and French tourists.

Tourism councillor Miguel Luna said: “They are very positive figures, which are better than last year, with a clear predominance of the top-class tourism of our town.”
