A humanitarian adventure for two

Adventure: Vera drivers ready to race and help the needy.

VERA will have two representatives in the upcoming Clio Raid Rally in Morocco.

Lorenzo Haro and Gabriel Carmona, travelled to Tangier to join some 50 vehicles to take part in the cross-desert rally to Marrakesh.

The event, in its second year, is a combination of adventure-sport and humanitarian work.  The teams race across the pre-determined route, stopping to distribute aid in forms of clothing, medicine and school equipment in villages in the country.

The organisation also provides education and training to teachers and social workers as well as helping build water pumps and other facilities.

The two drivers will deliver items donated by sponsors, including Vera Council and residents of the town. All participating vehicles are Renault Clios, either owned by the entrants or rented from the official organisation.

In the case of Haro and Cameron, they bought their own vehicle and adapted it to meet the event’s requirements.
