HUNTING: Has been criticised on social media.

THE head of the Sports department in Manilva, Agustin Vargas has organised the first-ever Manilva Dog and Hunting Fair with the assistance of Los Madroñales Hunter Association.

The event will take place on April 23 and 24 in the Manilva multipurpose centre and its surroundings. There will be street markets and children games areas with bumper cars and a bouncy castle.

In addition, visitors will be able to check out stands involved with the sport of hunting (including weapons, clothing and food) and to buy and sell dogs. Any Manilva resident is able to reserve a stand to sell their products as well as buying and selling dogs.

For both days of the event there will be several exhibitions and probably live music. Los Madroñales association, one of the most important in Manilva, will be in charge of the stands and the bar.

According to Mr Vargas this “is a very special event because hunting is a sport that I practise and there are many followers who enjoy it.”

There has, however, been some criticism on social media of the sport of hunting which can see ducks, deer, boar and wild pigs shot.
