SEEDS: Swapping saves old varieties.
A SECOND farmers’ market was held in La Nucia’s Plaza de la Ermita de Sant Vicent.
The latest market featured a Seed Swap aimed at encouraging the recuperation of local vegetables that have been forgotten, and traditional varieties of tomatoes, broad beans, pumpkins and radishes that are in danger of disappearing.
The La Nucia farmers’ market, organised by the Marina Baja Small Farmers and Craftspeople Association, is held monthly between February and June.
