Uniting Nationalities with Marbella Now

Hugs & happiness – Nicole King.

OVER the past 18 months I’ve had a great vantage point from behind the scenes to view, analyse and amaze at the unique way in which 137 nationalities cohabit in Marbella.    So many talented and diverse people have come through the radio and TV studios; all with something to say, someone to help and something to share; all incentivised by very different motives, all from such diverse backgrounds and cultures.

In this time it has become apparent that not only do the ‘137’ have a mutual love of living in Marbella, many also share common ground on issues which could be better addressed as community.

The most recurrent issues are:

*Marbella as a year round destination
*Local communication network
*More involvement with Spanish community
*Keep our city clean
*Charity support, events, shows, volunteers, etc.
*Projects to aid rescue centres
*GM products
*Ecological Marbella
*Renewable energy sources
*Local farmers / artisan markets
*Improving transport around Marbella – other than by car
*Children and adolescent activities
*Art & Culture
*Disabled access and transport

It is precisely for this reason that the idea came to mind to get us together and see what we ourselves can do, by each of the multinational talented people joining together to find solutions.

The date was set for April 5 2016 as I thought to invite Michael Tellinger who talks about a world of #Contributionism and he accepted, adding Marbella onto his up-coming European tour.

And thus our first United Nationalities of Marbella Now Summit has become a reality – an opportunity for all community spirited individuals who love Marbella and want to be a key player in making our city an even better place to live, work and holiday, to discuss the issues and hopefully form action groups to put the best ideas into practice.

With the invaluable help of so many, but in particular Marie-Noëlle Communications and Shaw Marketing to help me give the event a format, we have managed to group the main interests into 4 sections, to be discussed during the morning:

Sustainable Marbella – Building a strong, profitable local economy which doesn’t damage the environment

Marbella as a Year Round Destination – How we as residents can improve travel, take full advantage of the art and culture and activities on offer and improve Marbella off season

Improving integration with the Spanish community – How can we as expat residents become Marbella citizens in a true sense and work and live alongside the Spanish

Charitable Marbella – How can we help the underprivileged people in our society and get charities collaborating for the best results

This get together is informal and has no charge and is kindly being hosted by Laude San Pedro International College.

This first get together is from 10am – 2pm and registration is free from the following link:  www.marbellaazul.com/Marbella-Now-Tv/Registration

But the day doesn’t end there…. From  2pm – 3.30pm we will offer a snack lunch before our next event (cost 10€ to be paid at door and indicated upon registration) during which time Terry Shaughnessy and The Habituales have also donated their time and talent to keep everyone entertained until our star guest from South Africa starts his workshop.

Michael Tellinger is an acclaimed author of four books, scientist and explorer; a modern day Indiana Jones, making ground-breaking discoveries about advanced vanished civilizations at the southern tip of Africa. His continued efforts and analytical scientific approach have produced stunning new evidence that will force us to rethink our origins and rewrite our history books.

This is an opportunity for those interested to be a part of Michael’s workshop and personally hear his amazing findings regarding ancient technologies and the UBUNTU philosophy that have now led to aspirations of a world of  #Contributionism that doesn’t depend on money. Michael is also a candidate for local elections in South Africa – Check Michael out on YouTube and also www.michaeltellinger.com

This event is from 3.30pm – 7.30pm. Michael is kindly not charging for this event either but contributions would be welcomed.    Mercedes Boto of the The Marbella Heights Boutique Hotel has kindly contributed a 2 night’s stay for Michael, a beautiful act of #Contributionism for which we are all most grateful.
You are all welcome to come and spend the day with us or just attend the morning / afternoon sessions; either way thanks for taking your time to read this post and remember, if you have something to say, share or someone to help, contact us at  MiMarbellaRTVM@gmail.comto see if this can be included in Mi Marbella Radio 107.5fm and / or Marbella Now TV.
