Some of the young people and the raffle prize.

ALMOST every weekend, a table is set up outside of the entrance to Morrisons where money is raised for one charity or another, some local to Gibraltar and others of an international nature.

On Sunday March 6 which was Mother’s Day in both Gibraltar and the UK, but not Spain it was the turn of young adults to raise funds which will be used in the Youth Centre’s Life Skills project for youth club members aged 16+ by staging a raffle.

The event was a great success as not only were all of the tickets sold by the end of the day but it was also a good exercise for those taking part in dealing with diverse members of the public.

In the event, the winning ticket was number 058 which was picked by a member of the public chosen at random and the winner walked away with a collection of prizes which included vouchers for Ocean Village gym, the Leisure Centre and the Rock Hotel as well as perfumes, a DVD and a wine glass.

The Youth Centre group and staff thanked all of the local businesses who donated items for the raffle as well as everyone who bought tickets and supported the young people’s hard work.
