SOLLER TRAIN: Awarded for transforming a public service into a great tourist attraction.

THE Soller railway has received the Onda Cero Award for tourism.

The award was given for ‘transforming a public transport into a great tourist attraction unique in Spain’. 

Onda Cero Spanish radio station gives the awards to honoured people and groups that have stood out for their work in and out of the island. There are 17 different categories including science, sport, art, environment, tourism, design and trends, education, culture, economics, business, solidarity and integration, women, communication, fiestas and traditions, music, social initiative and health.

A gala awards ceremony will be held on Monday March 14 at 7.30pm in the Auditorium of Palma to honour all of the Onda Cero Mallorca Award recipients which also include the gravitation group of the UIB and Palma Futsal’s president.
