Costa del Sol pipe repair works cause water cuts

ACOSOL water company is carrying out repair works to mains water pipes along the Costa del Sol which have resulted in the supply being cut off in various areas between Rio Real in Marbella and La Ponderosa in Mijas.

The company announced that urbanisations and residential complexes and areas which could be affected by supply problems while work is carried out include: Club de Golf del Chaparral, Edificio Almirante, Edificio Algaida, Chalet Adulcade, Calahonda Playa (Royale), Camping Caravanning Marbella Playa, Loma de Las Palmas, Pinomar and Playas Andaluzas.

Two 24-hour water points have been set up, one at the EDAR in Fuengirola and the other in the northern area of the Rotonda de Cristo de los Molinos in Marbella, where water will be available until the works are completed.

The faults are expected to be repaired by Thursday (March 10) and Acosol reported it had contacted users whose supplies were expected to be affected in advance.
