JUST one day after tying the knot in a civil ceremony on March 4, Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall have held a private wedding celebration on London’s famed Fleet Street. The business mogul and actress/model originally announced their engagement in January.
The second ceremony took place on Saturday March 5 at St. Bride’s Church, which often dubs itself “the spiritual capital of the media”. The church has a capacity of about 150 to 200, and was shut down for the day to accommodate for the wedding.
Many famous faces were in attendance, with the guest list reading like a who’s who of Britan’s most recognisable playwrights, actors and politicians. Among the six bridesmaids were Hall’s two daughters, model Georgia May Jagger and her sister Elizabeth, fruit of her decades-long relationship with rock and roll icon Mick Jagger.
Following Friday’s ceremony, Murdoch announced to his 745,000 Twitter followers that he would be absent from social media for a while, before adding euphorically, “feel like luckiest AND happiest man in world.”
The wedding is the fourth for Murdoch and the first for Hall.
