MALAGA: Is set to be promoted to the French market.

A CAMPAIGN is underway to promote Malaga and Andalucia to the French market. The French already make up a good percentage of visitors but recently numbers have been falling.

Malaga City and Andalucian tourism chiefs attended the International Tourism Fair in Nantes, considered the most important tourism event in the French region.

In preparation the Malaga Tourism Department outlined the good connections between Malaga and Nantes. During the event, tourism officials met with their French counterparts and tour operators to promote campaigns to the French market.

Recent statistics show a decreasing number of French tourists are visiting Malaga, and now the city wants to increase its promotional strategies to bolster a once strong French market.

According to Malaga Town Council, a total of 50,710 French tourists stayed in Malaga hotels in 2015, a 0.9 per cent fall from 2014.

Malaga Tourism Councillor Juan Andrade said that the main touristic aim for 2016 is to recover the French market.
