Baby was accidentally locked in mother’s car

BABY RESCUED: Car window was broken with a rock.

A DISASTER was narrowly averted in Denia this week after a baby was accidently locked in a car.

A young mother had no intention of leaving her child in the car, however, as she climbed from the vehicle and closed the door she realised that she had left the keys on the front seat. As she reached for the door handle, the child somehow activated the central locking system by pressing a button on the car door.

Although the child showed no sign of immediate distress, the mother calmly took her mobile phone and called the Local Police, who dispatched a fire crew to the scene.

By the time the firemen arrived a crowd had gathered and the mother, by this time anxious for the safety of the child, had broken the rear window of the car with a rock. The child was checked out at the scene and was found to be fit and well.
