PAUL DANIELS’ publicist has announced the sad news that the popular magician and entertainer has been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

In a statement released on Saturday (February 20) the 77-year-old’s representative said: “We can confirm that one of our greatest magicians and entertainers of all times, Paul Daniels, has sadly been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.”

“On behalf of Paul, Debbie and their families, we thank you for your kind concerns and support at this sad time and ask that their privacy continues to be respected,” the statement continued.

The Paul Daniels Magic Show, running from 1979 to 1994 and starring Daniels and wife Debbie McGee, will remain in the memories of an entire generation of UK residents as the highlight of their weeks.

Daniels is, his website says, the only magician in the History of the London Magic Circle to receive all three of their top awards.
